During 2011–2012, I was the Founding President (now an Honorary President) of the SIAM Student Chapter at Chinese Academy of Sciences, the first SIAM Student Chapter in East Asia (founded on June 7, 2011; see SIAM NEWS: Volume 46, Number 1, January/February 2013 and Volume 45, Number 1, January/February 2012). Now the Chapter is more than seven years old, being organized by the eighth Executive Committee (President: Nachuan Xiao, Vice President: Xiong Zeng, Secretary: Meng Shi, Treasurer: Nachuan Xiao).
